Learn about our various orthodontic treatments available to you at Thai Orthodontics, including clear aligners, traditional braces, and early and adult orthodontic interventions.
Orthodontics is a specialty branch of dentistry that focuses on straightening and aligning teeth and jaws to improve the way they look and function.
As you prepare for treatment, remember there are several options. Each will depend on your orthodontic problems and how they will help you. Luckily, you can breathe easily with Dr. Thai. She will check your teeth and suggest a treatment. Here are some treatments she offers and when she recommends them.
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are an effective alternative to traditional braces because they use a series of custom-made, removable trays that gradually shift your teeth with each new set.
You should wear aligners for at least 22 hours daily and switch to your next new set every week. Treatment length depends on how well you wear your aligners and the complexity of your case. It might take six months or up to two years. Yet, not everyone is a good fit for treatment with clear aligners. The best way to know if you should get clear aligners is to see your orthodontist, Dr. Thai. At our office, we use a 3D digital scanner and no longer need to take impressions for clear aligners.

Traditional Braces
Traditional braces have been the gold standard for straightening teeth for many years. They use metal brackets on the front of the teeth, linked by wires. Once the archwires are on your teeth, they apply pressure. This helps shift the teeth into their proper positions. Your orthodontist will adjust the archwires at each visit.
Traditional metal braces are now more streamlined and practical. We also offer ceramic/clear braces too. If you’re unsure about the braces, Dr. Thai can help you choose the best treatment. Please get in touch with our office to make an appointment and learn more about how we can improve your smile.
Early Treatment
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, your child’s first appointment should be by age 7. This is to check if they need treatment and when to start it. Early intervention enables your child’s orthodontist to:
- Guide your child’s jaw growth and the arrival of their adult teeth.
- Adjust the widths of the upper and lower dental arches.
- Make extra room for crowded teeth.
- Avoid unnatural deterioration of permanent teeth.
- Avoid the need to have permanent teeth extracted in the future.
- Correct harmful habits like thumb-sucking.
- Improve any unusual swallowing or speaking issues
I love this orthodontist and would recommend them to anyone. Great people, and Dr. Thai is awesome!!

Adult Treatment
As an adult, ensuring you have good dental health should be one of your priorities. A beautiful smile boosts your confidence. OSo, orthodontics can help if you have any of the following issues:
- Malocclusion or improper biting patterns. These issues may result in misaligned teeth or jaws.
- Dental crowding or spacing
- Abnormal pressure or discomfort in the jaw joint brought on by crooked teeth.
Retention
After your orthodontic treatment, your smile will be straight and gorgeous! But your experience with orthodontics isn’t over. Next comes a retainers to stabilize and protect your results. Retainers prevent your teeth from shifting. They let the muscles, bones and gums adapt to the new positions of your teeth. Teeth shift as we age, so lower front teeth often crowd. As such, retention is a lifelong commitment. It will help you keep your smile and your oral health for years.
